SEN. REVILLA VOWS HELP TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. in today’s session entered his manifestation lauding Sen. Loren Legarda for her privilege speech on climate change, the environment, pandemic recovery, and investment in human capital.

The veteran lawmaker emphasized that marginalized sectors are the most susceptible to the deleterious and devastating effects of natural disasters. Not only are their lives and safety very prone to these hazards, but their livelihood have likewise been severely impacted by the effects of climate change.

He stressed that advocacies on climate change should be concretized by institutionalizing initiatives that are not only targeted and responsive, but must also be better implemented so that true, palpable and lasting effects will be felt. Sen. Revilla added that climate change mitigation and environmental protection concepts should be incorporated into the curricula of schools and should be actively practiced both in home and in the community.
