Give Marcos a chance

Presumptive President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. (BBM) is poised to become the first majority-elected president under the 1987 "Freedom" Constitution. In the partial and unofficial tally of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) transparency server, Marcos currently has over 31 million votes and is leading his closest rival by 15 million.

Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr., co-Chair of the Lakas-CMD which supported Marcos' presidential bid believes that the polls' results is a clear expression of the Filipinos' aspirations for Marcos' leadership and call for unity. "This is the very reason why his administration must be given a chance," Revilla said.

"Nakakalungkot na mahigit isang buwan pa bago magsimula ang kanyang termino, may ilan nang kumikilos na para siya'y i-sabotahe, kahit na mangahulugan pa ito sa pagbagsak ng bansa," the solon lamented. "We are in a crossroads. This is a crucial time for the nation, so all hands must be on deck. Let's stop shooting ourselves in the foot and instead rally behind our leader and our flag," the lawmaker appealed.

Revilla then referred to the small group of people who protested Marcos in Melbourne, Australia when the presumptive president visited with his son. "31 million Filipinos in the Philippines and in the whole world cast their vote of trust and confidence on BBM. It seems their sense of patriotism, if their actions indeed spawned from it, is misguided. They ended up embarassing only themselves," he ended. "Sila ang lumabas na kahiya-hiya."
